Meet the Artist
New Orleans vocalist, composer and producer Sasha Masakowski brings her quintet to Opelika for a full weekend of jazz in our 50-seat listening room.
Sasha blends modern jazz with electronics and has taken her sound to Blue Note NYC, SFJAZZ, the Kennedy Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai, Cotton Club Tokyo, the Copenhagen Jazz Festival and the Detroit Jazz Festival. She has worked with Nicholas Payton, Gerald Clayton, David Binney, Damon Locks and Jason Lindner.
It's also a family affair: she's joined by her father, Blue Note guitarist Steve Masakowski, and her brother Martin Masakowski on bass.

Saturday and Sunday shows are at The Sound Wall, 605 Ave B, Opelika. Park across the street at Auburn Bank. BYOB, or grab a drink at our Sip n Support bar. Each ticket is for one event, and seats are limited to 50 per show.
About the Jazz Series
The Sound Wall Jazz Series – American Art Music brings nationally touring jazz artists to Opelika for weekend residencies each fall and spring. Along with the public shows, each residency includes a visit with students in Opelika City Schools and a master class at Auburn University.

Sasha Masakowski
Vocals / Producer
Steve's daughter and award-winning vocalist, composer, and electronic musician. Her style bridges jazz, pop, and electronics. She produced Two Worlds and has collaborated with Nicholas Payton and David Binney.
Steve Masakowski
Guitar
Blue Note recording artist and former Coca-Cola Endowed Chair of Jazz Studies at UNO. Mentored by Ellis Marsalis Jr. and Danny Barker, celebrated modern jazz guitarist and composer in New Orleans.
Martin Masakowski
Bass
Double bassist and luthier who designs and builds his own instruments. Versatile across traditional and avant-garde jazz, with deep influences from Eastern European and Middle Eastern music.
Oscar Rossignoli
Piano
Honduran-born and New Orleans-based pianist and UNO alumnus who studied under Steve. His harmonic intelligence anchors the album's most lyrical moments.
