What is The Sound Wall?

The Sound Wall, founded in 2017 by Rob and Jen Slocumb of the folk-rock duo Martha’s Trouble, is a historic home recording studio and performance venue in Opelika, Alabama, hosting intimate concerts and collaborations with local and national musicians.

What is the Sound Wall Music Initiative (SWMI)?

SWMI is the non-profit arm of The Sound Wall, dedicated to promoting arts and music education in the community through workshops, artist residencies, and outreach programs, including the Jazz Series, Live! at the Wall, and the Opelika Songwriters Festival.

I’m coming from out of town — where do you suggest we get a bite to eat?

A few local favorites: Zazu Gastro Pub on 8th, Dough Pizza on 8th, and Irish Bread Pub on 9th.

Is The Sound Wall BYOB?

Yes — shows at The Sound Wall are BYOB. A bar option is also available, funded by donations to the non-profit.
